Much like the Bollywood biggies, while we may not be constantly hounded for exclusive rights to our wedding, there is no stopping us from taking a leaf out of celebs’ books on how to do things right. Over the last few years we have been given major #couplegoals by Virat-Anushka, Deepika-Ranveer and Sonam-Anand, and there is certainly a thing or two we could learn from their Big Indian Bollywood Weddings!
In a post-wedding interview, PeeCee revealed that their guests weren’t allowed to use their mobile phones at the event. Wow! Imagine that! It would certainly be a luxury to have all eyes on you at your function in this day and age.
How this worked?
So, basically it appears that the phones were locked in clutch-purses and given to the respective owners. Every time a guest wanted to use their phone, they were required to go the same booth and get their clutch-like bags unlocked. Well, no-phones also gives guests a chance to truly bond with each other and connect with the bride and groom on a whole another level. Certainly seems like an excellent idea!
Social Media Wedding
Well, on the other hand, there was also a time when everybody’s social media feeds were rampant with footages, and ‘live’ footages of a certain Big Indian Bollywood Wedding. So much so that, memes and tweets humorously highlighted how someone on the inside was leaking these videos. In saying that, couples can consciously choose to have the best moments of their lives relayed on their social media platfroms to connect with friends and family in different parts of the world. Well-edited and executed footages by an official social-media/photographer team being shared on social media, will also leave the couple with truckloads of happy memories which otherwise aren’t captured.
Couples fulfilling rituals on the D-day often miss out on all the fun their cousins and friends are having. With wedding videos becoming passé, quick social media videos could give couples the chance to live the moments they missed.
When Deepika and Ranveer whisked away their closest family members to Lake Como, they were certainly setting – Destination Wedding Goals! Who wouldn’t want their pheras to take place in one of the choicest locations of the world? However, in addition to picking the right destination, the call to take limited number of family members translates to a more intimate function where everyone knows everyone and thoroughly revels in each other’s company.
In addition to the wedding itself becoming an intimate function, since the guests are limited they receive the best of everything. This also works for couples who have always dreamt of a destination wedding but are pressed for budget. So, the pheras can take place at another destination with receptions being held in the home-towns of the bride and groom. Now, that’s what we call a destination wedding! We have witnessed a fair share of Bollywood weddings, and it’s now time to turn your wedding into a day your guests will remember for a long time to come.
